Who We Are: Pine Island Herb & Spice Company was started 13 years ago on the premise that you did not need to have salt, sugar and a host of preservatives and dyes to make a great dish. The owner and founder, Eileen Piasecki-Couch, loved to cook and experiment with seasonings. As a mother and full time research microbiologist, she had little time to fuss with finding healthy products without salt, sugar and all that junk. To solve the problem, she started Pine Island Herb & Spice featuring her own variety of blends of herbs and spices. All blends are Eileen’s original recipes. We purchase the raw ingredients separately, blend and hand package the finish product to our own original recipes. Each blend also includes it’s own recipe and serving suggestions. If you visit the Pine Island Herb & Spice web site you will find additional recipes for the blends. The company soon grew to include pasta dishes, soups, and a full line of herbs and spices. We still pride ourselves on creating interesting blends of herbs and spices that make cooking a little easier and a whole lot healthier. We vow never to add any salt, sugar, preservatives, or dyes to our products. But, be aware that some of the vegetables we buy may be treated with sulfates to preserve their color.
